India's Batting Woes Continue: NZ Takes Control in Second Test
Oh boy, the second test in Kanpur was a real nail-biter, but not in the way anyone expected. India, after a dominant win in the first test, found themselves trailing by a whopping 243 runs by the end of Day 3. The Kiwis, led by a brilliant century from Tom Latham (150*), completely outplayed the Indian team, leaving the hosts with a mountain to climb.
India's Top Order Crumbles Again
The Indian batting woes continued from the first test, with the top order failing to fire again. Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Virat Kohli all fell cheaply, leaving the team struggling at 42/3. The only bright spot in the innings was Shreyas Iyer, who scored a fighting 92, but his efforts were not enough to save India from another disappointing performance.
NZ's Bowling Attack Shines
The Kiwi bowlers were relentless throughout the day, exploiting the weaknesses in the Indian batting lineup. Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson were particularly effective, taking three and two wickets respectively. The spinners also chipped in, with Ajaz Patel and Will Somerville claiming a wicket each.
India's Task Cut Out in the Last Two Days
With two days remaining in the test, India faces an uphill battle to level the series. They need to bat with more composure and intent and hope that the bowlers can somehow conjure up a miracle to take 20 wickets. It's a huge ask, but hey, anything can happen in cricket, right?
We'll have to wait and see if the Indians can pull off a miracle or if the Kiwis will secure a convincing victory. Stay tuned for the final two days of the Kanpur Test!
