Ron Ely, the Man Who Played Tarzan, Has Passed Away at 86
It's a real bummer to have to report this, but Ron Ely, the actor best known for his role as Tarzan in the 1960s TV series, has died. He was 86 years old.
Ely was a pretty big deal back in the day. He was a total heartthrob, and his portrayal of the iconic jungle man captured the imagination of a whole generation. His Tarzan was strong, handsome, and of course, a total babe. He wasn't just a pretty face though, Ely was also an athlete, a swimmer, and a former Mr. America.
A Life Beyond Tarzan
Ely's career didn't just stop at Tarzan. He went on to star in a bunch of other TV shows and movies, including "Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze," "The Man Who Would Be King," and "The Cigarette Burns." He even popped up in a few episodes of "Fantasy Island" and "The Love Boat."
It's sad to see another legend go, and we'll always remember Ron Ely for his amazing portrayal of Tarzan. He was truly one of a kind. RIP, Ron!
