All Saints Day: Littlest Saints at Aquinas School

All Saints Day, a day to celebrate all the holy people who have gone before us, can be a bit of a head-scratcher for little kids. I mean, seriously, what does a saint even look like? How do you celebrate someone you've never met? At Aquinas School, they've found a way to make the holiday fun and meaningful for even the littlest learners.

Celebrating the Littlest Saints

This year, the first graders at Aquinas School went all out for All Saints Day. They dressed up as their favorite saints, complete with homemade costumes and bright, colorful halos. It was a sight to behold! The classrooms were filled with a joyous cacophony of giggling kids, each one proudly telling their classmates all about their chosen saint.

From Little Angels to Big Heroes

There was little Maria, dressed as Saint Teresa of Avila, complete with a pink robe and a tiny prayer book. She explained how Saint Teresa dedicated her life to helping others, which Maria thought was super cool. Across the hall, Ethan was a mini Saint Michael, his cardboard sword held high. He told everyone about how Saint Michael fought against evil, which was awesome in Ethan's opinion.

Learning and Growing Together

These playful, interactive activities helped the first graders learn about the lives of the saints in a fun and engaging way. They learned about their bravery, their kindness, and their dedication to serving others. The children even got to act out scenes from the saints' lives, which they absolutely loved!
