Arsenal Player Ratings: Loss, Saliba & Trossard Struggles
Ugh, what a gut punch of a game. Arsenal were absolutely robbed by the ref, but ultimately, we just didn't show up. It was a rough night for the Gunners, with a few players really struggling to find their footing. Let's dive into the individual performances, shall we?
A Night to Forget for Saliba
William Saliba had a nightmare. He looked shaky all game, struggling to cope with the physicality of the opposition's strikers. His passing was off, and he was generally out of sync with the rest of the defense. You could see the frustration building in him throughout the game, and it's something we definitely need to see him shake off. He's usually so solid, but tonight just wasn't his night.
Trossard Struggles Again
Leandro Trossard just can't seem to find his groove yet. He had some decent moments, but overall he looked lacking in confidence and didn't really offer much going forward. He's got a lot of talent, but he needs to start making a bigger impact if he wants to be a key part of this team.
The Positives
Martin Ødegaard was a bright spark for Arsenal, always looking to create chances. He was the only real threat going forward, and his energy was infectious. Gabriel Jesus worked hard, but couldn't quite find the goal.
A Harsh Lesson
This was a harsh reality check for Arsenal. We were sloppy, lacking in intensity, and just not good enough on the night. Hopefully, it serves as a wake-up call and we can bounce back strong in the next match.
Here's a quick rundown of the player ratings:
- Ødegaard: 7/10
- Jesus: 6/10
- Saliba: 4/10
- Trossard: 5/10
