Aston Villa Player Grades: Bologna Clash - A Mixed Bag in Italy

Alright, Villa fans, let's break down that pre-season clash against Bologna. It was a mixed bag, with some lads shining brighter than others. We've got the grades, so let's dive in!

Goalkeeper: Emi Martinez (7/10)

Emi was solid as usual. He made a couple of decent saves and commanded his box well. No major howlers, which is a good thing.

Defenders:

• Matty Cash (6/10): Matty looked alright, but wasn't his usual marauding self going forward. He did a decent job defensively though.
• Ezri Konsa (7/10): Konsa was a rock at the back. Strong in the air, good positioning. Exactly what we need from our center-backs.
• Tyrone Mings (6/10): Mings was solid enough. He had a couple of shaky moments, but overall a good performance.
• Lucas Digne (7/10): Digne was a constant threat down the left. He whipped in some dangerous crosses and looked sharp.

Midfielders:

• Douglas Luiz (7/10): Douglas was his usual self, controlling the tempo of the game. A bit more adventurous with his passing this time, which is exciting.
