Atlanta United Crushed Miami: Inter Miami Player Grades
The Five Stripes came out on fire and absolutely dominated Inter Miami on Saturday night. Let's be honest, it was a total beatdown.
The match was a complete mismatch, with Atlanta United looking sharp and energized while Inter Miami seemed lost and uninspired. It's tough to give high grades in a game like this, but let's break down the Inter Miami player performances and see who at least tried to put up a fight.
A Night to Forget for Miami
The entire team struggled, and even though I don't like to single out players, some guys really just had a bad night. You could see the frustration in the Inter Miami players' faces as the game wore on.
Here's how the players graded out:
Goalkeeper:
- Drake Callender (4/10): Drake was a bit of a punching bag, but I gotta give him some credit for making a few decent saves. But he was basically left out to dry by his defense.
Defense:
- DeAndre Yedlin (3/10): I'm really not sure what was going on with Yedlin. He was totally lost in space and couldn't keep up with Atlanta's attackers.
- Sergii Kryvtsov (3/10): A couple decent tackles, but overall a rough night for Kryvtsov.
- Nico Figal (4/10): Figal put in a good effort, but his team just seemed to be on a different page.
Midfield:
- Jean Mota (4/10): Mota didn't have much impact in the middle.
- Dixon Arroyo (3/10): I saw a lot of frustration in Arroyo's face. I can't say he played well.
- Gregore (4/10): Gregore showed some good touches but just wasn't able to make any real impact.
Attack:
- Robert Taylor (3/10): Taylor was completely shut down by the Atlanta defense.
- Leonardo Campana (3/10): Campana had one shot off target. The whole team just seemed to forget how to play soccer.
- Josef Martinez (3/10): Honestly, I'm not sure if Martinez was even on the field for a long time. He was completely invisible.
Substitutes:
- Shanyder Borgelin (4/10): Borgelin came on in the second half, but didn't really change the tide.
- Bryce Duke (4/10): Duke was a ghost.
Overall:
- Inter Miami (3/10): It was a night to forget for Inter Miami. They just weren't able to compete with Atlanta's intensity and talent.
This game was a painful reminder that this team still has a lot of work to do. They need to find their rhythm and figure out how to play as a team. Until then, it's going to be a rough ride for Inter Miami fans.
