Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle: Half Time - Blues on Fire, Magpies Need to Find Their Mojo
It's halftime at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea are flying. They've got a 2-1 lead thanks to a blistering start and Newcastle are looking a bit lost.
The Blues were on fire from the whistle. Kai Havertz opened the scoring with a beautiful curling effort in the 10th minute, then Raheem Sterling doubled the lead just 5 minutes later. Talk about a dream start! Newcastle were shell-shocked, struggling to get a foothold in the game.
To their credit, the Magpies did manage to pull one back before the break. Callum Wilson slotted home a penalty in the 38th minute after a clumsy foul by Wesley Fofana.
But Chelsea were absolutely dominant in the first half. They controlled the ball, created chances, and looked like a team full of confidence. Newcastle, on the other hand, seemed out of sorts. Their passing was sloppy, their movement was slow, and they were struggling to get into the Chelsea box.
The second half has a lot to offer. Can Newcastle find their way back into the game? Or will Chelsea cruise to victory?
