Concert Review: Highly Suspect Blew the Roof Off Christchurch!
So, Highly Suspect played Christchurch. Let me tell you, it was epic. Seriously, I'm still buzzing. If you missed it, you totally missed out.
A Night of Raw Energy
I've been a fan of Highly Suspect for ages, ever since I heard "Lydia." Their music is this amazing blend of grunge, hard rock, and a whole lotta soul. And live? Forget about it. They're a different beast entirely.
Their stage presence is insane. Johnny Stevens, the lead singer, is a total powerhouse. He commands the stage like a rock god possessed. Dude's got pipes, seriously impressive vocal range. The energy was infectious – the whole crowd was jumping, singing along, and generally losing their minds. It was total mayhem in the best possible way.
The Setlist: A Killer Mix of Old and New
They played all the hits, of course – "Lydia," "My Name Is Human," "Serotonia." Hearing those songs live was incredible. The crowd was singing along to every word. It felt like one giant singalong. But they also threw in some deep cuts and newer tracks from MCID, which was awesome for the die-hard fans like myself. It was a perfect mix. I mean, seriously, they played "Bath Salts" - pure genius.
The Sound and the Venue
The sound at the venue was spot on. Crystal clear, even way back where I was standing. The bass was thumping, the guitars were screaming, and the drums were pounding. My ears are still ringing, but in a good way. The venue itself – I won't name names, but let's just say it could've used a little more space. A bit cramped at times. But the atmosphere? Electric.
Beyond the Music: A Memorable Experience
It wasn't just about the music, though. It was the whole experience. The feeling of being surrounded by other fans who were just as passionate about the band. The raw energy on stage. The sheer, unadulterated fun. It's one of those concerts you'll remember for years to come.
If you ever get a chance to see Highly Suspect live, do it. Seriously. Don't hesitate. You won't regret it. Trust me. This Christchurch show? Legendary. Absolutely legendary. It totally made my year.
