"Don't Move" Review: A Stiff Thriller That Doesn't Quite Hit the Spot
Let's be honest, sometimes you just want a good, suspenseful thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat. You know, the kind that makes you jump at every creak of the floorboards and leaves you checking your windows twice before you go to bed. But "Don't Move" - despite its promising premise and some decent scares - just doesn't quite deliver on that promise. It's a bit like a lukewarm cup of coffee on a chilly morning: it's not bad, but it's not exactly what you were hoping for.
The movie revolves around a young couple, Sarah and Mark, who are moving into their dream home in a quiet suburban neighborhood. But their dream quickly turns into a nightmare when they find themselves trapped inside the house with a mysterious and menacing intruder. The problem? The intruder is watching them, but they can't see him. He can move freely through the house, but they're stuck in place, unable to escape. Talk about a recipe for a good old-fashioned horror flick!
Unfortunately, the movie's execution falls flat. The performances feel stiff and unnatural, with the actors struggling to convey the fear and desperation of their characters. The plot is predictable and lacks any real twists or turns to keep you guessing. And while the concept of an unseen intruder is certainly unsettling, the movie never fully utilizes its potential to create genuine dread.
"Don't Move" is a mediocre thriller that's missing some crucial ingredients to make it truly effective. It's not a total waste of time, and there are a few scenes that will get your heart racing, but overall it's a disappointment. If you're looking for a truly terrifying thriller, you're better off looking elsewhere.
