FPL GW8: Johnson and Saliba Leave Managers Fuming
Ugh, Gameweek 8. It was brutal, man. Those who held onto Trent Alexander-Arnold (finally!) and Erling Haaland were probably celebrating, but for the rest of us? It was a rollercoaster of emotions. We're talking low scores, red cards, and captain fails galore.
The biggest letdown? Two players who had been absolute rock stars for their respective teams: Ollie Watkins and William Saliba. Watkins went blank against Chelsea and, even worse, didn't even get a shot on target. Seriously, it was like he forgot how to play football. And Saliba? He was a red card waiting to happen after a terrible tackle on Gabriel Jesus, and that's not even counting the penalty he conceded!
Johnson's Disappointing Return
And let's not forget about Callum Johnson. Remember how hyped he was before the game? Everyone was saying he was a must-have, a differential, but then he went and got ZERO points. Zero! What a bummer. It's times like these when you just wanna throw your phone across the room.
On the bright side, we had some fantastic performances from Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard. Tierney was a beast with a clean sheet and an assist, while Odegaard scored a beauty and racked up good points. Those are the guys you wanna see in your team, you know?
What Now?
Gameweek 8 is in the rearview mirror, so let's learn from our mistakes and move on. Remember, it's a long season, and there's always a chance to bounce back. So dust yourself off, pick your players carefully, and good luck in Gameweek 9!
Bonus: Don't forget to check the latest news and injury reports to make sure you're not blindsided by any surprise substitutions or red cards. You never know what's gonna happen in the unpredictable world of FPL.
