Game 4 Recap: Lynx & Liberty Key Players Put on a Show
The New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx were locked in a battle for the ages in Game 4 of their WNBA semi-finals series. The game was a total nail-biter, with both teams going blow for blow right down to the wire. The Lynx pulled out a close win to take a 3-1 series lead, but it wasn’t easy.
A Battle of the Bigs
The matchup between the two teams' star centers, Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, was an absolute spectacle. Collier put up a monster performance, dropping 27 points and grabbing 12 boards, and her dominance in the paint was a huge factor in the Lynx’s win.
Stewart, on the other hand, was held to 19 points, her lowest total of the series. The Liberty were hoping she could carry them on her back, but she struggled to find her rhythm against the Lynx's defense.
The Supporting Cast
Both teams had key role players step up and make a huge impact. For the Lynx, Kayla McBride and Jessica Shepard put up some big numbers, with McBride dropping 17 points and Shepard contributing 16.
On the Liberty side, Sabrina Ionescu did everything she could to keep her team in the game. She had 24 points and 11 assists, and her ability to create her own shot was crucial for the Liberty. But it wasn't enough.
What's Next?
The Lynx are now one win away from advancing to the WNBA Finals, and they’ll be looking to close out the series in Game 5. The Liberty, meanwhile, will need to find a way to slow down Collier and get Stewart going if they want to extend the series.
This is a series where both teams have shown they can hang with the best of them. Game 5 will be a fight, and it will be a must-win for the Liberty if they want to stay alive.
