Heavy Rain Drenches Chilliwack, Dampens Voter Turnout
Chilliwack, BC - The skies opened up over Chilliwack on election day, unleashing a deluge of rain that may have dampened voter turnout. The heavy rain, a real downpour, made it tough for folks to get out and cast their ballots, even with a number of advanced polling locations set up around the city.
Some folks, understandably, decided to stay cozy at home. It's a real bummer, especially since this election is a big one! Some folks were even stuck in traffic due to road closures and flooding. The Chilliwack River even overflowed its banks in a few spots, creating a bit of a mess.
We'll have to see how the rain impacted the final voter turnout. It's always a bit of a gamble with the weather, but folks in Chilliwack are pretty used to it. Hopefully, the folks who braved the elements made their voices heard! This election has a lot riding on it, so every vote counts.
