Interview: Kep1er on 'TIPI-TAP' and Growth
Kep1er, the girl group born from the Mnet survival show Girls Planet 999, is back with their second mini-album, DOUBLAST. The title track, "TIPI-TAP," is a catchy and energetic song that showcases the group's growth since their debut.
We sat down with Kep1er to talk about their new album, their musical evolution, and what they're most excited about for the future.
The Sound of Growth
"This album is a big step forward for us," said Chaehyun, the group's main vocalist. "We wanted to show everyone how much we've grown as artists and performers."
And grown they have. "TIPI-TAP" is a sonic departure from their debut single, "WA DA DA." While "WA DA DA" was a powerful and energetic anthem, "TIPI-TAP" is a more playful and upbeat track. The song features a catchy chorus and dynamic choreography, making it perfect for getting your heart pumping.
Behind the Scenes
"We were really involved in the creative process for this album," said Dayeon, the group's lead dancer. "We were able to give our input on the music, the choreography, and even the styling."
This increased involvement is evident in the album's overall cohesiveness. From the quirky concept to the sophisticated styling, "DOUBLAST" feels like a true Kep1er project.
Looking Forward
"We're so excited to share this album with our fans," said Yujin, the group's leader. "We hope they enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it."
Kep1er is definitely a group to watch. With their talent, hard work, and undeniable charm, they're sure to continue making waves in the K-pop industry. They're already looking forward to performing "TIPI-TAP" live for their fans, and we can't wait to see what they do next.
