Five Years Later, Bond Fans Still Waiting
Let's face it, folks. We've all been there. You're hyped for a new movie, you've got your popcorn ready, and then BAM! The release date gets pushed back. It's enough to make you want to shake your martini, right? Well, that's exactly what's been happening with the latest James Bond flick.
The long wait for the next 007 adventure started way back in 2019 when the original release date for "Bond 25" (as it was known back then) was set for April 2020. But then, like a bad villain, COVID-19 reared its ugly head and threw a wrench in everything. Filming was halted, budgets were re-evaluated, and the release date was pushed back...and back...and back.
All this delay has had fans on edge. You can't blame them. After all, Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond was supposed to be a grand finale. We're talking explosions, fancy cars, and, of course, those iconic Bond girls. The anticipation was through the roof!
But the pandemic had other plans. The production was plagued by delays and set changes, and eventually, the decision was made to push the release to November 2021. Then again, to April 2022. Finally, "No Time To Die" hit theaters in October 2021. It's safe to say that fans were more than a little relieved.
While the wait was long, the movie itself was worth it. "No Time To Die" was a fitting end to Daniel Craig's Bond era. But let's be honest, we can't help but wonder what took so long. Was the delay really necessary? Did the movie really need to be delayed for five whole years? Or was it just a case of bad luck and bad timing?
Only time will tell if the wait was worth it. But one thing's for sure: we're all eager to see what's next for James Bond. With a new actor taking over the role, we can only hope that the next film will be just as exciting, if not more so, than its predecessors. And hopefully, we won't have to wait another five years to see it!
