Man United Player Ratings: Casemiro Delivers, But…
Another nail-biting win for Manchester United, but was it a performance to inspire confidence? Let's dive into the player ratings and see who shone and who, well, didn't.
The Good: Casemiro is a Boss
Casemiro (8/10): The Brazilian maestro was the difference maker, as usual. He dominated midfield, shielding the backline and making those crucial tackles. That man is a machine! His presence just oozes calmness and authority.
Rashford (7/10): The winger was buzzing, always looking dangerous with his pace and dribbling. He was a constant threat down the wing and got his reward with a well-taken goal. Rashford seems to be back to his best, and that's a scary prospect for the rest of the league.
Shaw (7/10): The left-back was rock-solid, making some crucial interceptions and overlapping runs. His crosses were on point too, and he was a constant threat in attack. He's really stepped up his game this season, and that's a big plus for United.
The Not-so-Good: Questions Remain
De Gea (6/10): He had a couple of hairy moments, but thankfully managed to avoid a costly mistake. He's not the most convincing with his feet, and that can be worrying sometimes. He did make some good saves too, but overall, it wasn't his most inspiring performance.
Maguire (5/10): Struggled to cope with the pace and movement of the opposition attack. He looked a bit shaky at times and was caught out of position. We still have some doubts about his ability to handle the pressure at this level.
Fernandes (6/10): Had a few flashes of brilliance but overall, his performance was underwhelming. He looked a bit off the pace and wasn't able to exert his usual influence on the game. We need to see more from him if United are going to truly challenge for the title.
Overall: Still Work to Do
The win is definitely a positive result, but there's still plenty of room for improvement. United weren't at their best, and they rode their luck a bit. The defense looked vulnerable at times, and they could easily have conceded more goals. It's a mixed bag, to be honest. Let's see if they can turn this into a consistent winning streak.
