Roadwork in Hamilton: Highway Closures for October 7th
Get ready, Hamilton! Roadwork season is upon us, and this weekend will bring some major highway closures. So grab your coffee, double-check your GPS, and plan your routes accordingly.
What's Closed and When?
The QEW will be closed in both directions between Brant Street and the Queen Elizabeth Way from Friday, October 7th at 11:00 PM to Monday, October 10th at 5:00 AM. This closure is for the much-needed QEW reconstruction project.
Heads up, Hamilton drivers! This closure will affect a lot of your daily commutes, so make sure to plan ahead and use alternate routes.
Why Are They Closing the Highway?
This closure is part of a massive QEW reconstruction project that's been going on for a while now. This project includes upgrades to the highway, making it safer and more efficient. The closures are necessary for construction crews to do their work without disrupting traffic too much.
Alternate Routes to Avoid the Roadwork
- If you're heading eastbound: Use Highway 403 or the Lincoln Alexander Parkway.
- If you're heading westbound: Take Highway 403 or the Red Hill Valley Parkway.
