Review: 'Venom: The Last Dance' - Bad, But Maybe Intentional?
Venom: Let There Be Carnage was a wild ride, but Venom: The Last Dance feels like it’s spinning in circles. We're used to superhero movies being a bit over-the-top, but this one just feels… off.
Let's be real, the plot is basically a giant mess. It's like they threw a bunch of story ideas into a blender and hit “liquify.” Eddie Brock is still trying to get used to being a symbiote-powered reporter, and Venom still wants to eat brains. But this time, they're facing a new villain who's, like, super powerful, and it’s just one giant CGI battle after another.
The CGI is Actually Pretty Good, Though
The visual effects are actually pretty slick. The symbiote action sequences are fun to watch, and they really made an effort to capture the "gooey" look of the symbiotes. It's like they said, "Alright, we know the story is a bit weak, but let's at least make it visually appealing."
But the Story...
Honestly, the story feels like it was written by a bunch of five-year-olds who just finished watching a bunch of superhero movies. It’s all about the fights and the explosions, and the character development? Forget about it! We’re supposed to be invested in Eddie and Venom’s relationship, but it's hard to care when you can't even figure out what's happening in the plot.
Could This be a Joke?
Here's the thing: Maybe it’s all intentional. Maybe the whole point is to be a self-aware, goofy, and slightly cringeworthy superhero movie. It's so bad that it's almost… good? Or maybe it's just bad, plain and simple.
I’m still trying to decide.
If you're looking for a mind-blowing superhero epic, then skip this one. But if you're looking for a movie to laugh at (or laugh at yourself for watching) then "Venom: The Last Dance" might just be your cup of tea. Just remember, you’ve been warned.
