Review: 'Venom: The Last Dance' - Is It Bad on Purpose?

Let's be honest, folks. We all know the 'Venom' movies aren't exactly Oscar bait. They're loud, they're dumb, and they're a whole lot of fun (sometimes). But 'Venom: The Last Dance'? Well, it feels like it’s trying to be so bad, it’s good - and it's not quite hitting the mark.

Is it a good movie? No way, José. But is it a fun movie? That's a tough one. It's filled with those cringeworthy moments you just can't look away from, the kind that make you wonder if the filmmakers were secretly laughing at us the whole time.

The Plot: It's Like a Crazier Rollercoaster

Venom, still trying to be a good guy, finds himself in a wild brawl with the "Symbiote King", a creature that looks like a rejected design for a 90s video game. Our hero has to fight off a bunch of other symbiotes, each with their own ridiculous personalities (think a talking car, but with more teeth).

The plot is so convoluted it feels like someone tried to write a movie using a fortune cookie machine. But you know what? Maybe that's the point. Maybe the director just wanted to see how much chaos he could create, and hey, it's kind of entertaining.

The Acting: It's Like a Theatre Production...But Bad

Tom Hardy, the man who has somehow made playing Venom his career (and good for him!), seems to be having a blast. He's chewing the scenery like it's a juicy steak, going full-on over-the-top with the quirky lines and goofy facial expressions.

The supporting cast, however, seems to be trapped in a weird, awkward limbo. They're acting like they're in a different movie, one where there isn't a giant, gooey alien creature trying to eat their faces.

Let's just say that the CGI is about as polished as a rock in a gravel pit. Some of the creature designs are actually pretty cool, but the execution is just plain messy.
