The Day the ACU Graduation Speech Went Off the Rails
You know that feeling when you're so stressed you could scream? Yeah, that was me last week. I'm a staff member at ACU, and I was responsible for setting up the graduation ceremony. I mean, I'm talking everything - the stage, the chairs, the microphones, you name it. And let me tell ya, it was a hot mess.
The speaker for the graduation ceremony was a big deal - someone famous, with a ton of followers. The pressure was on to make sure everything was perfect. I'd been working overtime for weeks, prepping for this event, and I swear I felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown.
The Graduation Speech Disaster
Then, the big day arrived. The ceremony was about to begin, and I was running around like a headless chicken. It was chaos. The microphone wasn't working, the speaker's notes were missing, and the flowers were all wilted. And to top it all off, the speaker was late! I thought I was going to lose my mind.
The speaker finally arrived, flustered and apologetic. He started his speech, but it was a disaster. He was stumbling over his words, forgetting what he was going to say, and basically rambling. The audience was totally confused, and I could feel the heat rising on my face. It was a complete and utter train wreck.
How I Survived the Graduation Speech Disaster
It felt like an eternity before the speech was over. I just stood there, frozen in place, while the speaker droned on and on. When he finally finished, I felt a huge wave of relief. I had survived. The ceremony was over, and the graduates were finally getting their diplomas.
After the graduation ceremony, I went home and collapsed on the couch, completely exhausted. I couldn't believe it was all over. I was proud of myself for pulling it off, even though it was a total nightmare.
This experience taught me a few valuable lessons about event planning. First, always have a backup plan. Second, make sure you have enough time to prepare. And finally, don't be afraid to ask for help.
So, if you're ever responsible for planning a big event, take my advice. You can do it, but it's gonna be tough!
