Totti Hints at Return, But Says No (For Now)
The King of Rome might be back! Okay, maybe not literally, but Francesco Totti has definitely got fans buzzing after a recent interview. The legendary AS Roma striker, who retired in 2017, dropped a bombshell: he's open to returning to the club in some capacity.
What’s the deal? Well, Totti has been involved with Roma since hanging up his boots. He's been a club ambassador, and even had a brief stint as a director. But lately, things haven’t been rosy between him and the club’s new management.
This all came to a head when Totti publicly criticized Roma’s new sporting director, Tiago Pinto. He felt the club wasn't doing enough to support his son, Cristian, who plays for the Roma youth team. Talk about a family affair!
Now, with a new manager in Jose Mourinho, Totti has hinted that he’s willing to put the past behind him. He told Sky Sport Italia: "I've always been a Roman. I've always been a Roma supporter, and I'll always be there for Roma. We'll see what the future holds. But for now, it's not the right time.”
So, is Totti coming back? It's a big maybe. He's definitely open to it, but says it's not the right time. This could mean a lot of things. Maybe he's waiting for the right offer, or perhaps he's just being cautious.
Whatever happens, it’s clear that Francesco Totti is still a beloved figure in Rome. He’s a legend, and his impact on the club is undeniable. Maybe the King of Rome will be back on the throne soon.
Stay tuned!
