Venom 3 Review: A New Chapter for Venom, or Just More of the Same?
Venom 3 is finally here, and fans are buzzing about what this new chapter holds for everyone’s favorite symbiote. But is it worth the hype? Does it deliver on the promise of something fresh, or is it just more of the same old Venom shenanigans?
Let’s dive in and see if this film truly bites, or if it's just a whole lot of bark.
The Good Stuff:
It's still Venom! Right off the bat, we gotta give it up to the film for delivering the kind of over-the-top action and cheesy humor we’ve come to expect from the franchise. You know what you’re getting with Venom, and this film doesn’t disappoint in that department. The CGI is top-notch, the action sequences are thrilling, and the laughs are plentiful.
Tom Hardy is fantastic. He’s the reason the character of Venom works. He’s able to capture both the monstrous and the human side of the symbiote, making him a truly fascinating character. He’s got that perfect balance of menace and humor that makes him incredibly entertaining to watch.
The plot is surprisingly engaging. While the overall story might feel a bit familiar, the execution is surprisingly fresh. There are twists and turns that keep you guessing, and the stakes are higher than ever before.
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
The villain is kinda blah. I’m not going to spoil who it is, but let’s just say the main bad guy is pretty forgettable. They’re not really a standout antagonist, and they lack the kind of charisma that Venom deserves.
The pacing feels off. Some parts of the film drag a bit, and the story feels a bit rushed at times. There are some awkward transitions between scenes, and the overall pacing could have been tightened up a bit.
The ending…well, let’s just say it’s a bit of a let down. I don’t want to give anything away, but the way the film ends leaves you with more questions than answers. It’s a little unsatisfying, and it doesn’t quite leave you with that sense of closure that you’d hope for.
The Verdict:
Is Venom 3 worth seeing? Ultimately, it depends on your expectations. If you’re looking for a fun, action-packed, and slightly ridiculous comic book film, then you’ll probably enjoy it. But if you’re looking for something deeper, more complex, or even a little more original, then you might want to give this one a miss.
Overall, Venom 3 is a decent entry in the franchise, but it’s not exactly a game changer. It’s a good time at the movies, but it doesn’t quite reach the heights of the first film.
Do yourself a favor and don’t take it too seriously. Just sit back, enjoy the ride, and try not to think too hard about the plot holes. And hey, if you’re a die-hard Venom fan, you’ll probably love it. Just don’t expect it to blow your mind.
