Venom 3 Review: The Last Dance - A Whimper
Let's be real, folks. We've all been waiting for this. The third Venom movie, the one where Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock finally gets to show us what he's really made of. But after watching "Venom 3: Let There Be Carnage," I'm left with one big question: Did we really need this?
The movie starts off with Eddie Brock, still struggling with the whole symbiote thing. You know, the usual: internal conflict, occasional bursts of superhuman strength, and that deliciously cheesy sense of humor. He's trying to live a normal life, but let's be honest, he's just screaming for a fight. And boy, does he get one.
Enter Carnage. Played with manic energy by Woody Harrelson, Carnage is the perfect foil to Eddie's brooding angst. He's chaotic, destructive, and frankly, a lot more fun to watch. The action scenes are intense, the CGI is over-the-top, and the fight sequences are pretty damn cool.
But here's the thing: it's all been done before. The movie feels like a retread of the first two, with little to no new ground covered. The plot is predictable, the characters are underdeveloped, and the overall message feels shallow.
And then there's the ending. Oh, the ending. I won't spoil it, but let's just say it's about as satisfying as a stale bagel.
The bottom line? "Venom 3: Let There Be Carnage" is a missed opportunity. It's a fun popcorn flick, sure, but it lacks the depth, the emotional punch, and the originality that made the first film such a surprise hit. It's more of a whimper than a bang, leaving you with a sense of disappointment rather than excitement.
Maybe we just need to give Eddie and Venom some time to breathe. This whole "last dance" thing doesn't really seem to be working out for them.
