Whakamaru, NZ: A serious crash on SH32, Whakamaru Road, has resulted in a full road closure. The incident occurred earlier this morning and emergency services are currently at the scene.
What Happened?
Emergency services responded to reports of a crash on SH32 near Whakamaru shortly after 8:00am. The crash involved multiple vehicles and resulted in injuries. The extent of the injuries are unknown at this time, but reports indicate that there may be serious injuries.
Road Closure and Detours
The entire stretch of SH32 between Whakamaru and the intersection with SH30 is closed while emergency services work at the scene and the road is cleared. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
Detour Options:
- Northbound: Take SH30 east towards Rotorua, then SH36 north to Tokoroa. From Tokoroa, you can then take SH32 north to Whakamaru.
- Southbound: Take SH30 west towards Tokoroa, then SH36 south to Rotorua. From Rotorua, you can then take SH32 south to Whakamaru.
